THE BIG TENT EVENT ~ 2010

This year's event was even bigger and better than the inaugural celebration of 2009!

Last year's Big Tent Event was a great success with over 3,000 people from the civilian and military communities coming together over the weekend to celebrate their faith.

The event gave the people of the Blackwater Valley region a window into the Christian faith in a non threatening environment and a venue to pray for soldiers on operations and their families and to take part in a variety of activities for all ages.

From the event some 2,000 cards with personal messages and prayers were sent out to the chaplains in Afghanistan to be distributed to the soldiers serving there.
A number of people had real life changing experiences while others had their interest stirred to look further into what Christians believe.

Afghanistan still goes on but now all of us back home are also acutely aware of how the country is facing the biggest economic challenge of our lifetime.

So we all need to dig deep and look at what really makes us as people and a soceity tick. The 9th to 12th September on the Queen's Parade in the Big Tent was an event which addressed these issues.
